A naturopath would look at everything in a person's life—their stress levels, behaviors that cause stress, a slightly compromised immune system, foods causing allergies, a higher toxic load," Dr. Gentile says. "They work with a computer—one wonders why they get a headache three or four hours later? They keep complaining about stale air and everybody in that office is complaining about the same stale air. We look at the long standing nature of these factors. The body tries to meet all these demands, tries to manage the total toxic load on the immune system as if it were a rain barrel. |

Increase Awareness of the Bad Habit
Increasing awareness of the bad habit starts by keeping a detailed food record for several days. During this time, you eat the kinds and quantities of food that you usually do, including all bad eating habits—for example, snacking on high-calorie foods after dinner or eating more than one helping of food for dinner. It is important to record the time and quantity of every food you eat, including all snacks, and everything you drink. |

Animals can also be very sensitive to their owners' emotions and stress levels. As a result, animals have increased levels of stress and anxiety that affects their endocrine, nervous, and immune systems.
One of the first published medical studies on stress in animals was conducted by American physiologist Walter Cannon, MD, in 1896. He used an X-raylike machine called a fluoroscope to study the digestive system of dogs. When the dogs were under stress, he noticed that the digestive system did not function properly. |

LIFESTYLE FACTORS
Your lifestyle is a major determinant of your stress levels. Use of holy basil prevented increased corticosterone levels that indicate elevated stress levels. A water extract of holy basil protected mice against radiation damage to the liver and chromosome damage to the cells. It prevented this damage by reducing hepatic lipid perioxidation and increasing the presence of two powerful cellular antioxidants: superoxide dimutase and superoxide catalase.
Other animal studies provided preliminary evidence that holy basil lowers blood sugar levels, helps prevent gastric ulcers, and enhances antibody production while inhibiting the symptoms of allergies. |

Cortisol lowers brain serotonin levels because it inhibits the conversion of tryptophan to 5-HTE As a result, many people with high stress levels are overweight, crave sugar and other carbohydrates, experience bouts of depression, get frequent headaches, and have vague muscle aches and pains. All of these maladies are correctable by raising brain serotonin levels with 5-HTP
5-HTP VERSUS TRYPTOPHAN: A COMPARISON Research has shown that, by all measures, supplemental 5-HTP is far superior to supplemental L-tryptophan for boosting serotonin levels. |

Hypoglycemia can be inherited, but most often it is precipitated by an inadequate diet. This is referred to as functional hypoglycemia (FH). Many other bodily disorders can cause hypoglycemic problems as well, among them adrenal insufficiency, thyroid disorders, pituitary disorders, kidney disease, and pancreatitis. Immune deficiency and candidiasis are strongly linked to hypoglycemia. |

If you have, you need to resolve them at the same time you are avoiding the foods you are intolerant to.
